Mr. James Deakin visited Japan through the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In this photo, he is standing at the 45th floor observation deck of the Shibuya Scramble Building.
On top of the world. Or tokyo, at least. This is the observation deck on the 45th floor of the brand spanking new (just opened this month) Shibuya Scramble buil...ding. It's a state of the art mixed used building, featuring high end mall, restaurants, shops, office space and public areas like the observatory. It sits right at the heart (and literally on top) of the 2nd busiest train station in tokyo and connects 5 lines, including the subway. The busiest station is Shinjuku-- not just in Tokyo but the entire planet--which accomodates 1 billion people a year. That's about 15% of the world's population in just one single train station. It opened its doors in 1885 and maintains a near perfect on time record.
If you are visiting tokyo, do yourself a favor and see it from an entirely different perspective.
