On February 21, Madame Ihoko Haneda, wife of Ambassador Koji Haneda, hosted a tea ceremony workshop at her residence. Members of the Philippines-Japan Ladies Association, Inc. (PJLA) and the Urasenke Tankokai Manila Association participated in the event. Ms. Kyoto Ty, the Association’s President, demonstrated how to make “wagashi” or traditional Japanese sweets. 600 million pesos’ worth of train simulators, totally equipped with Japan’s state-of- the-art technology, will be donated to the Philippine Railway Institute by the people of Japan! Japan strongly supports human resource development for the long-term success of the railway sector in the Philippines!
